Georgie O’Brien is a Korean+British painter whose practice takes on the form of a diary, where each painting is an entry that encourages self-reflection. To her, painting is an instinct, a natural reaction to impactful happenings in her life. During this process, her lived experience is dismantled and rebuilt, fabricating places that are neither completely real nor entirely false. These semi autobiographical spaces heavily lean on themes of faith, alienation, love, and belonging, all with the intention of recontextualizing herself and uncovering a better understanding of how she exists in the world.
