My paintings conflate themes of home, religion, my Korean heritage, loving and living.

I create spaces that are somewhere between my mind, my body and the memories they hold, places that are not completely real or entirely false. This semi autobiographical space bridges the past and the possible, allowing me to form a connection with what has happened and explore the prospect of what could be. Informed by my experience, I use painting as a tool to search for answers to questions about my identity, allowing me to gradually recontextualize myself.
